Canadian Valour
The first place one should look to find examples of the best that Canada has produced it to those who have earned our highest military honour - the Victoria Cross. The citations below are a start to illustrate the performance of Canadian military people under this most extreme combat circumstances. I have taken this information from the Vetran's Affairs Canada site. Most of the links refer to Wikipedia. As I can find further information about these people I will add amplifying links.
