Operation Medusa

Hundreds of Canadian soldiers backed by coalition troops and their Afghan allies launched a major offensive Saturday to drive Taliban insurgents from a stronghold west of Kandahar, Afghanistan they use as a staging ground for deadly ambushes and terror attacks in Kandahar City.

Such an operation is bound to result in casualties. The following people have lost their lives so far. The media has given their names and some details of the action that took their lives. Can anyone comment on who they were, what they liked to do and what they stood for in their own minds?
