The Real Cpl Glen Arnold

The following is from the brother of one of the soldiers who was killed by a suicide bomber in September 2006 in Panjwai Provence. It is a reminder that we are more than soldiers, sailors and airmen. We have families. We leave our families behind when we deploy but our hearts are with them every minute till we get home.
.....

Cpl. Glen Arnold was my brother. I could write a book about what a great guy he was but I think we remember him best by the absolute joy he took in being a father. You could see the look of pride in his eyes when he spoke about his children and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.

Glen also loved to laugh. He was always smiling and I can tell you from personal experience that his sense of humour included its fair share of mischeviousness.

Finally, Glen really loved his work. As a medic he had a special opportunity to help those who were less fortunate. He did so and served with distinction in Bosnia, Sri Lanka and in both his tours in Afghanistan. He truly believed in their mission and wanted to be there with his comrades. We miss him dearly but we are comforted by the pride we have in his legacy and in the family he has left behind.
